Stephan Reinhardt: The NV Ay Grand Cru Fut de Chene Brut MV10 is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay blend from the 2010 harvest, though it is officially non-vintaged. Entirely vinified in oak for one year and disgorged in August 2017, the MV10 opens with a clear, pure, fresh and coolish bouquet of white fruits, dried flowers, fresh oak and cold earth. There is a certain maturity here, but the palate is round, fresh and elegant, with good grip and tension and a perfect touch of sweetness. This is a pure, vital, straight yet fine, complex, well-structured and persistent cuvee that shows good grip with herbal and intense fruit flavors on the finish. This is an expressive Grand Cru from Ay that is still available but is going to be replaced by the MV12 soon to become part of the HG "Collection" range. Tasted April 2018 (KC4S47C).
