William Kelley: As I wrote last year, the November 2018disgorgement of Anselme Selosse's NV Blanc de Blancs Grand CruInitial is a blend of the 2012, 2011 and 2010 vintages and derivesfrom the lower-altitude slopes of Avize, Cramant and Oger, wherethe soils are richer in clay and yields higher. The wine is goingfrom strength to strength, and it's showing brilliantly today,mingling notes of peach and honeycomb with nuances of dried fruitand toasted nuts. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it'svinous and concentrated, with terrific mid-palate amplitude, arefined pinpoint mousse and a long, sapid finish. Indeed, this isdrinking so well that I was sorely tempted to open a second bottle.
